Top Finds February 20, 2015

I just love video content, I remember the first time I started watching YouTube. I was having a conversation with my roommate and she was telling me that she would watch videos about makeup; she would learn about new products and application process. I tried it out, but it was not appealing to me. Later that summer I was traveling abroad and had some down time; I was hoping to catch up on some shows, but was disappointed by blocked international streaming. So I gave YouTube a second chance and that is when I found my addiction to pretty much all things YouTube. ('09)

So today I am leaving you with some very interesting and entertaining video content.
(Side note, can you believe that YouTube has been around for 10 years!)

If you only choose one video to watch, This is the one to watch

NYSE, Rockets and BBVA

What does the New York Stock Exchange, Houston Rockets/NBA and BBVA all have in common?

2 NBA players got to ring the NYSE bell Friday. https://www.facebook.com/houstonrockets?ref=br_tf

In addition, they are all something that I am very interested it. I have been a Rockets fan since I was a young girl, I remember watching the Rockets game and calling my dad about the score. My new passion for BBVA was due to my recent stock purchase. I was able to buy $BBVA @ $9.03/share. On Friday, their stock closed out at $9.69/share, a pretty good profit for a conservative trader.

Over the next couple of months, I plan to invest more into the market, due to the fluctuating oil prices.

February 13, 2015

The investments will be projected as long term, which I believe is more profitable then putting in the banks. I do have some upcoming investment projects in the works, and I hope that they will sustain positive profits that will allow me to venture into other passions of mine such as, traveling.

Top Finds: Feb. 6, 2015

This week's Top Finds is a little scarce. I am in the middle of my last semester of my MBA, and that means studying for midterms, reading lots, and working on projects.

1. Nashville's Lennon & Maisy

I love the show Nashville, and I think its so wonderful that these sisters get to work together and truly enjoy each other and share their passion.

2. Buzzfeed transformed women into their historical figures

This was just crazy for me to watch. I love Buzzfeed video's, they are so entertaining and different from what is currently "on The YouTubes"

3. Valentine's Day! Plush Kitten Bouquet
How cute, for the girl that loves stuffed animals. When I get flowers, I never want to throw them away and I end up with dead looking roses that become an eye sore. With this kitten bouquet, you can keep them forever and re purpose them.

4. Fresh Off the Boat
New ABC show (http://abc.go.com/shows/fresh-off-the-boat), check them out. Its about a Taiwanese family experiencing/embracing the American culture. Sort of like a documentary of a first gen. American, and his struggles of fitting in with his family and society.

Check out the link to see some very creative and artistic photos of today's Oscar Nominees

Mind blown fact: Samsung Galaxy S5

Today, I learned the most amazing thing ever!

I upgraded my Samsung Galaxy S3 to an S5, last summer. I always thought that the charger was different; it was a little bit of a headache considering it was not compatible with the rest of my micro usb charging devises.

BUT.... today my sister told me that I can actually charge my phone with my old charger. I doubted her at first but I tried it out and it worked! (plug the micro usb charger to the right side of the SGS5)

Congratulations Miss Colombia

Paulina Vega, also know as Miss Colombia, is now recognized as Miss Universe! Side note, she is only 22 years old!

Last night was the 63rd Annual Miss Universe Pageant. I actually forgot about it and tuned in 30 mins. late. I missed the exciting introductions and costumes worn by each contestant. I was able to watch the top 15 selected women.

Some things that came to mind when I was watching:

  • Contestants did not look like they where from their designated country
  • I did not like Prince Royce's performance, didn't feel like it belonged - didn't go with the environment
  • Nick Jonas looked great, could have left the white sneakers at home and opted for nice dress shoes
  • It must have been difficult for some of the contestants to mentally translate everything in their mind while presenting poise and sophistication
  • It was probably difficult for the top 5 women to understand their question from the judges
I really thought Miss Jamaica had a good chance at winning. When it was down to the bottom two, I knew Miss Colombia would have won due to her answer from the social media question.
“What is the greatest contribution of your country to the entire world?”
The first thought that came to my mind for USA, one word, "FREEDOM"

This is Miss Nia Sanchez, also know as Miss USA and Miss Nevada.

Some interesting facts:
  • Age: 24
  • Avid traveler
  • I love her dress above ^^
